Modules
A Module is a ready-made setup: Types, saved views, collections, templates and workflows that work together, plus optional example notes. Movie night, Reading list and Project tracker come with Lar, along with single-workflow Modules such as Send new links to a webhook.
Browse Modules
Section titled “Browse Modules”- Open Workflows and choose the Modules tab.
- Search, or pick a category.
- Choose a Module to see What this adds, What it can do, and a preview of how it fits your workspace. Nothing is created until you install.
Lar works out What it can do from the Module’s steps, not from its description: which Types it reads and changes, whether it runs on its own, whether it uses your AI provider, and where it sends data. If some steps can’t be checked, Install stays unavailable.
The Type gallery and empty Type pages also show Browse Modules or Find a Module for… links when a Module works with that Type.
Install a Module
Section titled “Install a Module”- On the Module’s page, choose Install.
- Read the publisher line. Built in means it came with Lar. A signature shows who published a file, not that it is safe.
- Under Types and property groups, choose Use my Type to reuse a Type you already have, or Add a separate copy.
- Fill in any Settings to fill in, such as the web address a webhook sends to.
- Choose Install.
- Under Workflows to turn on, choose Review and turn on for each workflow you want, or Review and turn on all.
Workflows you leave off wait under Waiting for your approval on the Workflows page.
To install a file someone sent you, choose Import a Module… and pick a .lar-pack file.
Update or uninstall
Section titled “Update or uninstall”The Updates tab lists installed Modules with a newer version. Review update shows what changes, including anything the new version can do that the old one could not. Choose Accept changes and update or Keep the installed version. Workflows that change come back switched off until you turn them on again.
The Installed tab lists every Module you installed. Uninstall first shows exactly what happens:
- Views, collections, templates, workflows and example notes the Module added are removed, unless you changed them.
- Types and property groups the Module added are retired, not deleted. A Type that still has notes is kept.
- Anything that was already in your workspace is left alone.
Share your own setup
Section titled “Share your own setup”On desktop, open a workflow’s options menu and choose Export as Module…. Pick the workflows, views, collections and templates to include, then review every piece of text the file will contain before you save. Webhook details and the text in filters and saved views are left out by default, for the person who installs it to fill in; the review lists anything you chose to keep. You can sign the file with your own publisher key; otherwise it reads as coming from an unverified publisher.
The online catalog
Section titled “The online catalog”The Modules that come with Lar work offline. The online catalog is off until you turn it on, from the notice on the Modules tab or in Settings (AI provider › Module catalog on desktop, Module catalog on mobile).
When it is on, opening Modules downloads, at most every six hours, the list of available Modules, the list of withdrawn publisher keys, and the Module files it needs. These are plain downloads from the catalog address shown in Settings. Nothing from your workspace is sent, and no account or device details. Searching happens on your device.
Lar shows an online Module only if its file matches the list, it is signed by a publisher Lar trusts, and Lar’s own review signature covers what it can do. No online Modules are available yet.
Turning the catalog off deletes the downloaded list and files. The list of withdrawn publisher keys is kept, so a key that was withdrawn stays withdrawn. The setting is per workspace.
