Collections
A Collection is a manually maintained set of Objects. It is useful when membership itself is the important fact—for example, a course reading list or a selection for a client—rather than a query that should continuously recalculate.
Collections are scoped to an Object Type. Their members remain independent Objects; adding an Object does not make it a child document or change its Type.
Create a Collection
Section titled “Create a Collection”- Open the menu for an Object Type in the sidebar.
- Choose New collection.
- Name the Collection.
- Open it and add existing Objects, or create new Objects from the Collection.
Creating from a template inside a Collection creates an ordinary Object and then adds it as a member.
Manage membership
Section titled “Manage membership”Use Edit collections on an Object, a Collection picker, or bulk-selection controls to add or remove membership. Removing an Object from a Collection does not delete it.
Collection menus provide actions to rename, pin to the sidebar, import, and delete the Collection. Deleting the Collection removes the grouping, not the member Objects.
Collection or Saved View?
Section titled “Collection or Saved View?”Use a Collection for an explicit list you curate. Use a Saved View when membership should be derived from filters, such as every open Project with a deadline this month.
